Next rout all those sounds to a mix channel where you can process the whole mix as one.LMMS (MultiMedia Studio) is a free Fruity Loops alternative and lets Windows and Linux users to make their music by giving a user-friendly interface and a range of tools. low bass, and kick drums (reverb can create dissonance which is probably undesirable in the low-end)). Try having reverb on a separate channel so that you can partially rout the groups you want reverb on into the reverb and avoid using it on ones you don't (ex. I have talked about the sound design of individual instruments, so now you could try creating multiple channels on the FX rack, rout similar instruments to the same channel so you can process them similarly to fit in the mix where those types are supposed to fit (ex. Now the instruments and composition are done, the mix needs some work as it doesn't sound like it's glued together. It also has too much low-end that needs to be cut. It's not playing a melody when it sounds like it should.įor the "SEGuitar", you just need to fix the resonance problem I believe between 450hz to 600hz where it cuts through the mix too much. The notes the guitar plays are fine if you don't want any dissonance, but it's just kinda' boring. The difference here is that you can compress the bass synth to prevent the varying volume of that fundamental frequency that is sometimes taking over your mix. It just needs a simple highpass filter at the end of the chain to cut out the low-end rumble it produces that space should probably be filled by a dedicated bass synth, perhaps playing the same notes the guitar currently is. Now the sound design of the "Trash Guitar" sounds great. The melody could be less repetitive, but it's a keeper either way. The bell sounds that come in are actually really nice and fit well. I believe this can be fixed by making it play slower notes since the 16th notes it's playing really don't fit.

The "Dist Guitar" that comes in also doesn't really seem to play a role other than just being another sound (an odd choice at that). Add a bass synth there that plays repeated 8th notes and come up with a cool buildup before actually adding in the drums. Perhaps instead, you could not add the drums yet, and automate a lowpass filter to close down at the part where the drums currently do come in. Next the drums come in way too loud and sudden without any actual change taking place in the song it's just a non-impactful addition. Also I think you could add a lot more width and space to those synths.

Plus this would make those first 32 bars not feel so long. It starts suddenly which isn't really a problem in itself, but by the way it sounds a pad synth would be nice to have in place of the current ones for the first 16 bars before introducing the current synths. I'll try to give an honest and in-depth critique of this.įirst is the intro.
